Waterpark Simulator 1.0 Launch Update

Read an evidence-backed summary of Waterpark Simulator 1.0's July 31, 2026 release features, product boundaries, and still-unverified behavior.

Waterpark Simulator version 1.0 launched on July 31, 2026, moving base-game AppID 3293260 out of Early Access. CayPlay’s release post groups a large set of new systems under “NEW STUFF” and also lists improvements. This page summarizes that developer-authored inventory without adding unstated costs, quest steps, multiplayer persistence rules, or BuildIDs.

Multiplayer and communication

The release adds online multiplayer for the park. CayPlay says the session can include the player plus up to three friends or strangers, for four people total. The group can begin a park from the start or load an existing park, and proximity voice is optional.

Walkie-talkies allow map-wide communication when the relevant players hold them, while the megaphone and trumpet add other multiplayer communication or performance options. The launch notes also disable the spray can in multiplayer.

Host migration, client save ownership, permissions, disconnect persistence, cross-play, cross-save, split screen, and dedicated servers are not established by the announcement. The multiplayer guide keeps those fields unverified.

Maps, slides, and park construction

Beach is a new beachfront map with sea mechanics. CayPlay explicitly says it requires a new park and that layouts cannot transfer. City also receives a new zone, entrance, backdrop, and building areas according to the current store presentation.

Customizable slides let players create their own designs, including the loops and spirals highlighted in store copy. Steam’s public achievement list now includes making a first custom slide. Exact editor controls, costs, geometry limits, and safe measurements require a live public-build capture.

Three themes—Aztec, Sea, and Pirate—arrive through new research branches. Each branch uses a Museum currency, unlocks themed construction items, and ends in a massive slide.

Museum, prestige, and quests

The Museum contains three NPCs, three questlines, and one special currency for each line. Those currencies map to the three theme research trees. The official post does not name the NPCs, currencies, task order, or costs.

The store now presents diamond prestige as the park’s ultimate rating target, and Steam exposes an Above the Stars achievement for reaching it. City and Beach also receive separate three- and five-star achievement goals.

Mafia is an optional questline involving dubious loans. CayPlay’s preview says the player may refuse; accepting starts a mini questline whose later details are deliberately not spoiled. No interest rate, repayment path, or ending is asserted.

Staff, guests, and daily operation

Security is a new staff type that removes disruptive guests. Mascots are roaming staff designed to raise happiness and reduce boredom. Their exact research costs and numerical effects are not in the launch inventory.

Weather can range from rain and heatwaves to unusual event weather, with bonuses or penalties. Night mode extends an operating day and costs more in staff pay; lighting and glowing wristbands support night play.

Attractions can now break down completely and remain out of order until repaired. Benches become functional rest objects. Guest sickness can spread when visitors see another sick person, while a setting can disable the entire sickness system.

The update also adds a popcorn stand, special events, more staff characters, and the ability to pick up guests, staff, or other players.

Tools and interactions

New tools include the plunger gun for fast movement, paintgun, duck gun, royal hammer, trumpet, megaphone, and walkie-talkies. Water cannons support playful interaction, and ziplines move players and visitors in a straight line across the park.

These feature names are official. Their prices, unlock prerequisites, ranges, and exact controls are left to the current game UI unless a developer post states them.

Character customization is now released, with up to five saved character slots described in the launch notes. Steam includes a public achievement for customizing a character.

Performance and quality changes

CayPlay reports major improvements to memory use and performance. Benches now restore energy for tired guests, NPCs enter Caymart, the ticket booth gains shutters while closed, and the pool of “star staff” characters expands.

A general improvement claim is not a hardware benchmark. Current performance still depends on the machine, save, settings, and public build. Use CayPlay’s support instructions for crashes or black screens rather than treating the release note as proof that every issue is resolved.

Separate products and future plans

The Demo is AppID 3730180. Its same-day store notice creates a one-way save boundary for new Demo saves and rejects older Demo saves after the update. That rule should not be generalized to every base-game save.

The soundtrack is music AppID 4811280, not gameplay DLC. Its presence in related store data does not create a separate gameplay edition.

Future 1.1 poll items, including the lazy-river priority recorded by the audit, remain roadmap material. They are not included in the released 1.0 feature list unless a later CayPlay post says they shipped.

What to recheck after the next patch

Recheck multiplayer joining and persistence, custom-slide behavior, Museum quests and costs, theme research, Mafia choices, weather modifiers, staff balance, achievements, controller and Deck behavior, save recovery, and mod compatibility.

Keep the public semantic version separate from a Steam depot BuildID. Record branch, platform, and check date when a value changes.
