Waterpark Simulator 1.0.21–1.0.31 Hotfixes

Use the consolidated Waterpark Simulator 1.0.21–1.0.31 launch hotfix record for empty parks, achievements, Museum missions, host permissions, ultrawide, saves, weather, and co-op fixes.

CayPlay consolidated the first Waterpark Simulator launch fixes from versions 1.0.21 through 1.0.31 into an August 4, 2026 update. The sequence covers a severe empty-park symptom, achievement and progression blockers, Museum and wellness tasks, host permissions, ultrawide display behavior, save names, weather, controller options, multiplayer equipment, and many attraction details.

The current public build is 1.0.50. Use this page to find the official origin of a fix and then reproduce on the current branch. Do not treat one consolidated bullet as a promise that every similar symptom has the same cause.

Empty park after an update

The most important recovery note says players whose park appeared empty after the update should use Steam’s Verify integrity of game files action. Exit without saving over the unexpected state and copy the save folder first.

Follow the dedicated Empty Park After Update procedure. It distinguishes this symptom from a missing save, black screen, wrong slot, or incompatible old Demo save. Do not delete LocalLow data or clear Steam Cloud as a first response.

Achievements and progression fixes

The hotfix sequence includes corrections related to Beach and zipline achievements. It also addresses night research, experience from buildings, a Sandbox unlock issue, and Museum missions becoming completable by staff.

If an achievement still fails, read the exact current Steam description. Many conditions explicitly require Normal or Hard difficulty, and Sandbox disables achievements. Use the Achievement Checklist to separate counters and requirements, then capture the profile, difficulty, action, and current version.

For Museum progress, note whether the player or staff performed the action and which branch or task was selected. A fix allowing staff completion does not mean every Museum research node shares the same credit rules.

Host permissions and co-op rules

Across these launch fixes, CayPlay added or corrected host settings for the ticket booth, building, destroying, hiring staff, and opening the park. Later patches expanded or fixed painting and Caymart controls and added lobby bans.

Review the complete current checklist in Multiplayer Permissions. Begin with restrictive settings on a valuable save and test one client action in a disposable area. The hotfix notes also changed starting equipment so clients begin with a hammer rather than a sledgehammer.

The update treats item throwing as a player-versus-player interaction in multiplayer. Establish group rules before using it around guests or ongoing work. This behavior does not prove a competitive game mode or ranked PvP.

Display, camera, and interface changes

The sequence includes ultrawide support or fixes, camera inversion options, and UI scaling work. A later 1.0.48 patch fixed a tooltip at 1440×1080, so resolution reports should always include the exact current build.

If an interface element is clipped, record resolution, Windows scale, fullscreen mode, game UI scale, language, and a screenshot. Change one setting at a time. Do not recommend a single universal UI scale without checking the screen and translation involved.

The hotfixes also include a quit confirmation, which reduces accidental exits but does not replace deliberate saving and backups before multiplayer or recovery tests.

Save-name and persistence details

CayPlay fixed support for non-letter characters in save names during this sequence. That issue is separate from the pinned recovery warning that a renamed .es3 file must not contain spaces. A display name accepted by the game and a manually edited recovery filename are not necessarily governed by the same parser.

For manual recovery, preserve the whole slots folder and follow the developer’s .bac procedure exactly. For Demo migration, remember the one-way boundary: saves made in the updated Demo can open in the full version, and after that cannot return to the Demo; old Demo saves are incompatible with the updated Demo.

Attraction, weather, and simulation fixes

The official consolidated notes mention fixes involving the windy sound, a Christmas slide, snow paint, rain, and other park presentation details. They also cover staff duplication and several attraction or progression edge cases.

Use these as diagnostic anchors:

  • If rain or snow paint looks wrong, record the active weather and object material.
  • If a building gives no experience, note the exact object and whether it was newly placed after updating.
  • If staff duplicate, preserve the save before firing or rehiring and record the steps that created the duplicate.
  • If a Beach or zipline achievement fails, capture the exact achievement description and difficulty.

Avoid turning patch wording into invented values. The notes establish that behavior changed, not a permanent amount of XP, weather frequency, or required zipline count.

Wellness and Museum co-op checks

The launch hotfixes include multiplayer progress for wellness-related content and Museum mission behavior. When testing a current task, distinguish who initiated it, who performed it, where progress appeared, and whether the host saved and reloaded.

Do not assume client achievement credit because an in-game quest advanced. Steam profile achievements and park quest state are different systems. Test a short condition before committing a four-player group to a long completion route.

What to retest on 1.0.50

Park loads empty

Exit, preserve saves, verify AppID 3293260 files, then reload once.

Host control missing

Recreate the lobby after updating and inspect the current host settings and tablet.

Achievement does not unlock

Confirm Normal or Hard where required, the exact description, and the Steam profile receiving credit.

Museum task does not advance

Record branch, task, actor, host/client role, and whether the current node accepts staff work.

Launch-hotfix answers

What should I do if my park is empty after updating?

Exit without saving, copy the save folder, and verify the base game’s installed files through Steam.

Which host permissions were added?

The launch sequence covers ticket booth, building, destroying, hiring, and opening the park. Later updates add or fix more controls.

Did the hotfixes repair all achievements?

They fixed several Beach, zipline, and progression issues, but each remaining case must be checked against the current description, difficulty, and version.

Is 1.0.31 current?

No. This is a historical launch-fix range; the public branch reached 1.0.50 on August 11, 2026.
