Waterpark Simulator 1.0.43 was a broad August 6, 2026 hotfix covering multiplayer permissions and clients, staff quitting, Mafia and Saboteur events, quest blockers, visual settings, sound, and guest simulation. Later patches changed some of these systems again, so use the current 1.0.50 behavior when playing and this page when tracing a fix.
The update is especially important because it disproves an early assumption that co-op had no game-enforced permission controls. It introduced or corrected administrative features that current hosts should review before opening a valuable park.
Multiplayer and host administration
Version 1.0.43 added a lobby ban feature. The official notes make clear that the ban applies to the active lobby rather than permanently to every lobby. Version 1.0.50 later made the Ban button available on the tablet too.
The patch also fixed or added host settings related to painting and Caymart, and fixed preferences not carrying correctly when a player used a second computer. Use Multiplayer Permissions for the combined current control list, including build, destroy, hire, park-open, and ticket-booth settings added across the launch hotfixes.
Several client actions were repaired. Non-host players received fixes for water-blob placement and chlorine throwing. When retesting, identify the player as host or client and create a new lobby after updating. A fix to one tool does not establish identical authority for every object.
Staff behavior and notifications
The patch addressed staff quitting behavior and its notification. Version 1.0.48 subsequently established that staff should not quit on Easy or Sandbox and added an Accessibility toggle to disable quitting.
For a current report, record the difficulty, accessibility setting, staff role, visible notification, assignment, and version. Do not diagnose a quitting rule from 1.0.43 alone because the later rule is more specific.
An idle worker is a different problem. Check the role, workplace, route, task demand, and supplies before treating it as the quitting bug. The Staff Index separates the documented roles from volatile wages and star-staff statistics.
Mafia, retaliation, and Saboteur changes
Version 1.0.43 adjusted Mafia retaliation and random waves and included Saboteur-related work. Later releases continued that line: 1.0.48 added an Accessibility control to disable NPC retaliation, while 1.0.50 reduced the Saboteur appearance chance and fixed a Mafia return that could be missed when saving and quitting on the expected day.
Use the newest rules when pursuing the quest. If an event is missing, include the last completed quest step, day, whether you saved and quit, difficulty, accessibility options, and current version. Do not publish an exact wave schedule from one save because the official notes describe random behavior.
For the current recovery path, see Mafia Questline and Patch 1.0.50.
Quest and attraction fixes
The official 1.0.43 notes address several narrow blockers:
- a floor-related quest on the Beach;
- a three-star collider issue;
- clipping involving the Ocean Pool;
- paint behavior on the Duck Slide;
- multiplayer placement or use of water blobs;
- chlorine throwing by non-host players.
If one of these still occurs, capture the exact map or attraction and do not generalize it as “all quests broken.” Confirm that Steam finished the update and verify installed files if the park became empty after an update.
Simulation, interface, and presentation changes
The update added or corrected V-sync behavior and several small but noticeable simulation details. Official notes reference a smelly visitor, menu demand, a sauna grace period, and preventing drowning during the final 30 minutes before closing. The patch also covers an emote popup and Golden Hammer behavior.
These changes are not stable numerical promises. For example, the sauna grace-period duration is not reproduced here because the public summary does not establish a universal current value. Observe the 1.0.50 tooltip and record the condition if a guest reacts unexpectedly.
The final-30-minutes safety rule should be tested against the park’s live closing time. If a drowning event occurs, capture the in-game clock, attraction, lifeguard coverage, and semantic version.
A focused retest matrix
Co-op client tools
- Test: one blob placement and one chlorine throw
- Who: a non-host client
- Preserve: lobby settings and a backed-up park
- Expected evidence: action works or produces a reproducible versioned failure
Lobby ban
- Test: removal from a disposable lobby
- Scope: current lobby only
- Preserve: player list and host settings privately
- Expected evidence: removed player cannot remain in that active lobby
Mafia return
- Test: use 1.0.50, not 1.0.43
- Who: host or solo player pursuing the quest
- Preserve: day, quest log, save/quit timing
- Expected evidence: event resumes according to the current fix
1.0.43 answers
Did 1.0.43 add permanent player bans?
No. The official description says bans are scoped to the lobby. Use Steam’s separate account controls for platform-level blocking.
Did it fix every Mafia problem?
No. It changed Mafia and retaliation behavior, but 1.0.50 later fixed a save-and-quit timing case.
Did it affect clients rather than only hosts?
Yes. The notes include fixes for non-host blob placement and chlorine throwing.
Should I downgrade to 1.0.43?
No. Use the current public branch, 1.0.50, which includes later fixes and security improvements.
