Customizable slides are a released Waterpark Simulator 1.0 feature. CayPlay says the system supports player-designed forms including loops and spirals, and Steam’s achievement list includes Slide Architect for making a first custom slide. The official material does not publish a complete editor-control map, size limits, prices, speed formula, or guaranteed safe geometry, so this guide focuses on a reliable construction process.

Begin with a complete simple route

Choose a clear area with room around both ends. Enter the current custom-slide construction tool through the live build interface and read its displayed controls. Those prompts are the authority for the current Windows build; do not force a key sequence copied from an Early Access video.

Place or define the start, then create the shortest design that demonstrates a complete connection to its intended finish. Avoid adding loops, spirals, long drops, or dense scenery during this first pass. A plain working slide gives you a baseline.

Keep access visible. Guests need to reach the start and clear the finish, while the owner and staff need room to inspect the attraction. A connection that is visually close is not proven until the game accepts the completed build and a guest uses it.

Change one section at a time

Once the baseline works, add one intentional feature. That might be a turn, height change, loop, or spiral supported by the editor. Complete the edit and test again before adding the next feature.

This order makes failures diagnosable. If guests stop using the slide after the latest segment, return to that segment first. Rebuilding the whole structure or changing several connections at once removes the evidence you just created.

Use the editor’s own validity feedback, snapping, preview, or warning states when they appear. Their exact labels are not asserted here because they need a current 1.0 capture. Never assume a segment is valid only because its model overlaps another piece.

Test function, not only appearance

Open the park under normal operating conditions and observe the full route. Confirm that a guest can approach, enter, travel through the complete design, exit, and rejoin the park without becoming trapped.

Watch more than one use. A single successful trip proves possibility, not capacity or reliability. Look for queue blockage, guests clustering at the start or finish, repeated avoidance, and an exit that interferes with another path.

Keep repair and cleaning access in mind. The 1.0 notes add complete attraction breakdowns, and the base game already makes cleaning and repair part of park operation. A slide that occupies every surrounding tile can be awkward to service even when it runs.

Add complexity with a rollback point

Before a major redesign, save through the game’s normal interface and consider a manual copy of the save folder if the park is valuable. CayPlay’s official support folder is %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\CayPlay\WaterparkSimulator\slots; follow the save guide and copy files rather than editing the live set.

After each successful feature, take a screenshot or note the section that changed. If the next experiment fails, remove or simplify only that addition. This is especially useful for a dense loop or spiral where several pieces appear close together.

Do not publish a universal “maximum drop,” “best speed,” or “safe radius” from one park. Those values were not established by the official sources reviewed on 2026-08-02 and may depend on the current build.

Integrate the slide into the park

A custom slide is also a traffic generator. Give its approach enough space that a queue does not block the entrance path. Keep the finish clear of food lines, narrow crossings, and another attraction’s start.

Observe the new cleaning, repair, and safety workload. If the slide creates a popular distant zone, extend amenities and staff coverage rather than expecting the entrance team to serve it instantly.

Decorate after the geometry has passed repeated tests. Painting, flooring, signs, props, and themed items are official customization features, but decoration should not hide the path, connection, or service access you may need to inspect.

Decide when to rebuild

Rebuild when the simple baseline itself cannot be completed, when the finish cannot be integrated into a clear guest route, or when repeated tests show the attraction disrupts the district. Simplifying a design is a repair, not a failure.

Keep the design when it works reliably and the remaining issue belongs elsewhere. A dirty area needs cleaning coverage; an out-of-order attraction needs repair; an empty park may have an admission or layout problem. Do not edit slide geometry to solve every operational symptom.

Custom slide troubleshooting

The editor will not accept a connection

Return to the last accepted piece, simplify the angle or path using the current editor controls, and test one connection. Exact snapping limits require live capture and are not guessed here.

Guests reach the slide but do not complete it

Check the start, the newest segment, and the finish separately. Revert the last complex addition, reopen the attraction if the live UI requires it, and observe another full use.

The slide works but the area is chaotic

Separate the queue from through traffic, clear the exit, and add local cleaning, repair, food, rest, or safety coverage according to the visible demand.

Does Beach change the editor?

The official notes confirm Beach and sea mechanics but do not document every editor difference. Beach requires a new park and its layout is not transferable, so validate the design inside that map rather than assuming a City blueprint behaves identically.
